2004. A VIEW BECOMES A CHALLENGE.
The simple difference of being able to see versus not being able to see changed everything for me that year. After falling into an empty pool and cracking my skull, my vison began to abandon me. Within months of the fall, I was outfitted with my first pair of glasses, Harry Potter style.
2008. A CHALLENGE BECOMES A DREAM.
September 13th, a day I never thought would be a turning point in my life. The summit of Mount Whitney, a place I never thought I'd stand. Climbing The Seven Summits, a goal I never thought I would set. By September 14th all of these became a reality. In those 24 hours I went from being a ten year old boy who wanted to impress his dad, to a kid who was hell-bent on climbing the highest mountain on each and every continent.
2013. A DREAM BECOMES A VISION.
Today, almost a decade after my fall, my vision has only gotten worse... but fixing it has never been easier. Within seconds of waking up every morning I'm back to seeing 20/20. Until recently I took the luxury of my contacts for granted, that is until I found out not everyone has it as easy as I do. For 703 million people worldwide, a simple pair of eyeglasses is as hard to obtain as the summit of a mountain.
2014. VISION BECOMES A REALITY.
After realizing hundreds of millions of people do not get to enjoy any views, let alone the breathtaking views I've experienced from Kilimanjaro and Elbrus, I've dedicated the third of my Seven Summit venture to brining awareness to this reality. Aconcagua has become a summit dedicated to bringing vision to 6,960 South Americans for whom seeing clearly is their own personal summit.
